Susan’s unique background in technology, privacy, and advocacy enables her to provide creative solutions to handle internet-related defamation and privacy issues for her clients.
Prior to joining Minc Law, Susan worked in the Special Investigations Division of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office where she was involved with the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI), the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and the Cold Case Unit. There, she gained invaluable experience understanding the investigative process and assisting prosecutors in cases involving traumatic events. As a judicial extern for the Supreme Court of Ohio and personal bailiff to a judge at the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, Susan refined her research, drafting, and analytical skills and gained a comprehensive knowledge of the inner workings of the court — from managing the court docket and setting pre-trial, hearing, and trial dates to supervising jury trials and keeping journal entries of all court proceedings.
During law school, Susan focused her studies in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy law, where she helped companies identify and prepare for the various risks that come with operating in the digital age. From conducting risk assessments to addressing access controls and compliance, Susan understands the impact of technology on companies as well as on individuals including the harm it may cause to victims’ lives. These collective experiences have given Susan a comprehensive understanding and unique approach to the intricacies of internet privacy issues in our increasingly digital society while showing compassion and empathy for those targeted.
Susan utilizes cutting-edge technology and evolving legal tactics to zealously represent businesses and individuals as they face internet extortionists and online harassers, including those who attempt to hide their identities behind a veil of assumed anonymity. She gives clients peace of mind in their personal and professional lives and helps them manage their online privacy to protect against extortion, online harassment, cyberbullying, revenge porn, and other invasive privacy issues.
Outside of the office, Susan enjoys volunteering in her community, playing classical music on the piano, hiking, and reading mystery novels.
