Melanie Hughes

Empathy, a trait not coded into everyone’s DNA, is one that Melanie Hughes naturally displays each time she listens to a client from the first point of contact. While each case is different, empathy, along with listening and trustworthiness, are attributes Melanie displays to make each client feel safe and comfortable as they share details of their personal situation in a judgement-free zone.
Melanie brings eight years of experience as an organized, detail-oriented paralegal. The knowledge she’s gained over the years has created a strong foundation for the variety of areas of law and types of cases she handles alongside the attorneys as they counsel a diverse client base. Melanie answers calls from potential clients, conducts the initial interviews, and schedules consultations for the attorneys as well as answers questions for potential clients before and after their consultations. She also assists the attorneys manage their matters, which includes proofreading and formatting documents, preserving evidence for their files, drafting and finalizing documents, preparing and filing documents with the court, keeping files organized, and lending a hand wherever else is necessary. She also assists clients with removal of content from the Internet and manages some of the firm’s Digital Risk Protection clients. Lastly, she is a contributing author to the firm’s blogs used to educate potential clients about internet defamation and Minc Law.
When not in the office, Melanie enjoys raising her two young daughters and spending time with them, her husband, and their two dogs. She loves to read – aiming to read about 50 novels each year – and is a member of a book club that meets monthly. She enjoys participating in any type water sport activity including swimming, kayaking, boating, etc.
