Mackenzie Detrich brings a unique blend of legal expertise, creative thinking, and intellectual curiosity to her role as an attorney at Minc Law. With a strong background in art history and a passion for intellectual property law, Mackenzie applies her diverse skill set to assist clients in defamation litigation and adult content removal matters.

As a law student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Mackenzie distinguished herself through her exceptional academic performance and practical experience. She has consistently earned a spot on the Dean’s Honor List and has been recognized as a Justice Story Intellectual Property Law Fellow. Mackenzie also serves as the Executive Notes Editor for the Journal of International Law and is an active member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society.

Mackenzie’s legal journey has been marked by hands-on experience in various areas of law. Through her work with CWRU’s Kramer Law Clinic, she has delved into the intricacies of federal tax incentives and their impact on economically distressed communities. As a member of the First Amendment Clinic, Mackenzie gained valuable experience in defamation litigation, working closely with a team of students to review discovery and revise legal documents.

In her capstone semester as a Certified Legal Intern with CWRU’s Intellectual Property Venture Clinic, Mackenzie showcased her ability to navigate complex IP matters. Under the guidance of a professor, she worked with multiple clients to file copyright, trademark, and design patent applications, honing her skills in intellectual property law.

Mackenzie is an integral part of the team, assisting attorneys with defamation matters across multiple stages of litigation in various states. Her meticulous legal research on defamation and anti-SLAPP laws has been instrumental in developing effective strategies for clients. Mackenzie has also applied her research skills to revenge porn laws, working closely with other attorneys to create tailored solutions for individuals facing the unauthorized distribution of intimate content.

Outside of her legal work, Mackenzie enjoys exploring Cleveland’s cultural scene, trying out new restaurants, and visiting art museums.
