The Brass Tacks: What is CheaterCentral.com?
CheaterCentral.com is a growing online cheater reporting and shaming website, where past lovers, girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, and sometimes anonymous individuals “expose” unfaithful behavior. CheaterCentral saw its first cheater shaming posts and comments go up all the way back in 2006, making it one of the oldest homewrecker and cheater shaming websites online.
Unfortunately, while CheaterCentral may have started as a transparent and honest platform for past-spouses who were hurt by unfaithful lovers, it has since evolved into a hotbed for online defamation and false allegations. And, while CheaterCentral.com’s homepage and theme are simple and bare, it has gotten the job done – ranking on the first page of Google’s search results for numerous names.
When first landing on the CheaterCentral.com homepage, users are prompted to “Report Now,” and able to scroll through over 300 pages of cheater reports and posts. They also enable posters and commenters to post pictures of an allegedly unfaithful person, opening up the potential scope of illegality even further. Reporting a cheater is as easy as designating a title, writing a post’s contents, choosing a category (the bulk of which are classified by geographic location), and uploading any relevant files.
So, why does this pose such a serious threat to both your personal and professional reputation? CheaterCentral.com has absolutely zero safeguards in place when it comes to submitting and verifying content/posts. There is no registration process, Terms of Service, or posting guidelines. Should an innocent person be defamed or maliciously attacked on CheaterCentral.com, means of legal recourse can be few and far between. Until now.
U.S. Defamation Law Fact: Most states differ in their defamation lawsuit requirements and formalities, so we recommend reaching out to an experienced online defamation attorney before initiating a claim. For example, some states may have a shorter libel statute of limitations, while others may be more relaxed. Working with an experienced defamation lawyer will help ensure you give your case the best chance to succeed!

Cheater & Homewrecker Legal Cases in the U.S.
In this section, we’re going to walk you through two online cheater and homewrecker cases to show the extent to which online defamation and false attacks and affect not only your personal reputation, but professional one as well.
Let’s first take a look at a 2014 defamation case involving CheaterCentral.com and ShesAHomewrecker.com.
CheaterCentral.com Defamation Case
In 2014, a Cook County plaintiff, only identified as Jane Doe, filed a defamation action against Amerin Wahid in Texas. The anonymous plaintiff had allegedly engaged in an affair with Wahid’s husband, which was then broadcast and posted about on ComplaintsBurueau.com, ShesAHomewrecker.com, and of course, CheaterCentral.com.
Doe alleged that Wahid had improperly gained access to her husband’s email, which contained communications and photographs sent between the two. Doe then received threatening emails from Wahid, which included one notable threat to disseminate private photographs of Doe to Doe’s colleagues. Subsequently, the accusations went public, and Wahid began posting openly on the aforementioned websites.
Among other things, Wahid posted that Doe had “poisoned” Wahid’s husband against her and her children, and forced him to leave his family. Doe contended these were all false accusations and statements.
As a result of Wahid’s open posting on these highly trafficked cheater shaming websites, Doe alleged she had suffered; harmed reputation, invasion of privacy, mental anguish, emotional distress, trauma, and embarrassment.
Ultimately, the case was dismissed without prejudice from federal court in 2015.
ShesAHomewrecker Libel & Malicious Attacks
In 2015, Monika Glennon of Huntsville, Alabama, found herself at the center of over-the-top sexual allegations which attacked her both personally and professionally. One early morning in September, 2015, Glennon received a phone call from a trusted coworker that something “awful” had been posted about her on her work’s Facebook webpage. At first, Glennon thought it likely had something to do with a bad review or bad service, however; it was something far more sinister.
The post? A link to ShesAHomewrecker.com, which contained false accusations and defamatory allegations that the author walked in on Glennon (her realtor) and her (the poster’s) husband having sex on the floor of a house the poster was scheduled to view. The unnamed poster then graphically described the sex act she had witnessed, claiming she had snapped photos of the two, which she claimed had been used to secure a favorable settlement in their divorce.
Naturally, Glennon was horrified, as the story was completely false.
The story was subsequently re-posted across several other online bulletin boards and websites, namely BadBizReport.is (and viewed over 95,000 times). This was no small scale attack. Additionally, the ShesAHomewrecker report and link became the first Google result for Glennon’s name.
Was it a disgruntled client? A fellow realtor looking to weed out the competition? A trusted friend and family member?
Finally, after some digging and a hefty attorney fee, Glennon was able to unmask the online perpetrator – a complete stranger who had been offended by a comment Glennon left on a news article on a Facebook page.
Online defamation and false attacks aren’t always posted by actual acquaintances, and unfortunately takes countless forms. Don’t tackle online defamation alone. Reach out to an experienced online defamation attorney to help you secure your removal today!
Online Reputation & Brand Management Tip: If you run a business or company with an online presence, we recommend establishing an online reputation and brand monitoring budget. Doing so is essential for gauging the public’s perception of your product or service, and combating intellectual property infringers as soon as they pop up.
